Newtown Eagles 17, Brookfield (#5) 0 â Michael Coates, Dan Sclafani and Adam Morehouse combined on a one-hitter, striking out 10 while yielding just two walks to lead the Eagles to the win. Michael Zaccaro sparked the offense with two hits, three runs scored, two RBIs and six stolen bases. RJ Roman banged out four hits, including three doubles, and drove in seven runs.
Newtown Eagles 14, Brookfield (#3) 3 â Dan Sclafani pitched well, striking out all batters he faced, while Michael Coates added two strong innings to go along with his three hits (including a home run) and three runs scored to lead the Eagles. Â Jamey Tibbets had two hits and scored twice while Garrett Quinn added a hit, three runs scored and four stolen bases. Â Ryan Lasher had a great game defensively behind the plate.
Newtown Black Knights 7, Woodbury 1 â Cody Williams, Robbie Blanc, Chris Caulfield and Ralph Sergiovanni combined on a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead the Knights to the win. Newtown Knights 20, New Fairfield 7 â A 15-hit attack propelled the Knights to the win. Christopher Tenney had three doubles and Kyle Watts and Connor Blanc had two hits apiece. Connor Blanc, Andrew Kelley, Greg Williamson, and Nicky Sajovic pitched well for the Knights.
Newtown Knights 14, Brookfield 1 â The Knights scored 13 runs on nine hits in the first inning and went on to win in a four-inning mercy-rule game. Andrew Kelley and Brandon Ziman led the hitting attack with two hits each. Christopher Tenney and Colin Morris combined on a one-hitter with five strikeouts while Robbie Beier and Gabe Ruiz had great defensive plays for the Knights.
Newtown Grandslams 5, Brookfield 1 â Kyle Wilcox, Curtis Droniak and Chad Magoulas combined on a two-hitter, striking out 13 batters to lead the Grandslams to the win. Michael Newman doubled and drove in two runs while Doniak also had two RBI. Gavin Sullivan and Wyatt Depuy played well.
