Breast Cancer Golf Outing

FAIRFIELD — The fifth annual Rose of Hope Golf Tournament, sponsored by People’s Wealth Management & Trust, will be held October 14 at Brooklawn Country Club. Proceeds will benefit Norma F. Pfriem Breast Cancer Center services for women with breast cancer.

“Women and men are welcome to participate in the tournament,” says Donna Twist, the center’s director of development. “There will be ladies’ and mixed divisions, and it promises to be an enjoyable day of golf for all.”

The scramble-format tournament starts with registration at 10:30 am. The entry fee is $250. A barbecue luncheon will be served at 11:30 am. Tee-off is at 12:30 pm. A cocktail reception, buffet, and awards ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm.

For information, email Vicki Yurkerwich, event chairman, at vickiyurkewich@yahoo.com, or call Ms Twist at 259-8804.

Prizes will be awarded to the individuals and foursomes with the best scores as well as for longest drive and closest to the pin. The special hole-in-one prize is a new 2004 “mystery vehicle” provided by Paul Miller of Miller Ford-Nissan-Volkswagen in Fairfield. There will also be live and silent auctions for a variety of high-quality items.
