Benefit Concert For Children First
DANBURY â The Music Learning Center will present âOur Faculty and Friendsâ¦In Concertâ at 7:30 pm on Saturday, September 20. The performance will take place at Western Connecticut State Universityâs Ives Auditorium, 181 White Street. Proceeds from the performance will benefit Danbury Children First, a community organization that seeks to âinvolve, empower and support parents to improve the lives of children at home, in school and in the community.â
The program will feature over 30 musicians performing a program of classical, jazz and original music. The Music Learning Center instructors â including jazz pianist and music center director Jeff McGill, a resident of Newtown â will also be joined by several musicians with whom they frequently collaborate.
The special event is being presented in celebration of the Music Learning Centerâs tenth anniversary. The MLC faculty offer instrumental and vocal instruction to students of all ages, as well as Kindermusik classes and ensemble performing groups.
Tickets for âOur Faculty and Friendsâ¦In Concertâ are on sale now at Music Plus and the Music Learning Center. General admission seating is $12 for adults and $6 for seniors/children 12 and under. Tickets may be charged by phone by calling the Music Learning Center at 748-1444. Based upon availability, tickets may also be purchased at the door the evening of the performance for $14 and $7 respectively.
