*Clear Channel Entertainment announced on Tuesday the postponement of three events at the Oakdale Theatre and Meadows Music Theater, two venues run by the promotions company in Connecticut. There was also an announcement, Wednesday morning, concerning the onsale dates for tickets for two upcoming shows.

The EARTH WIND & FIRE performance originally scheduled for September 11 at the ctnow.com Oakdale Theatre and the JOHN MELLENCAMP performance scheduled for September 12 at the Meadows were both postponed indefinitely. Also, Connecticut Magazine’s Best of Connecticut” event originally scheduled at the Oakdale for September 13 has been postponed.

The decision to reschedule these events was made in conjunction with local authorities and the artists and organizers involved. The decision was made out of respect for the victims of the nationwide tragedy still taking place.

Anyone with tickets to any of these events is being advised to hold on to their tickets. Information about the new concert dates will be printed as soon as it is available.

The following onsales originally planned for this Saturday, September 15th have been postponed until Saturday, September 22: PHIL LESH AND FRIENDS at ctnow.com Oakdale, and JO DEE MESSINA, also scheduled for the Oakdale.

*So HOLDEN TRUELOVE thrilled the crowd that turned out at Dickinson Park in Newtown last weekend, where the 12-year-old guitar prodigy was one of the big draws for an extremely successful fundraiser concert-picnic. For anyone who wants to hear more of the young Thomaston’s talent or for anyone who is hearing the buzz this week and is now sorry to have missed Sunday afternoon’s big event, Holden’s next public appearances are within the next week.

He will be performing at the Terryville Fair on Sunday, September 16, at 5 pm. Then on Wednesday, September 19, the guitarist will do a radio interview and then perform on WCXI, the radio station out of Western CT State University in Danbury at 91.7 FM. The 30-minute segment will begin at 8 pm.

*I know my column this year must sound occasionally like I’m working on the side as a promotions gal for state troubadour KEVIN BRIODY, but really I’m not! He’s just such a talented (and sincerely nice) guy that any time I hear of him coming into the immediate area, I want to tell anyone who is still listening to me that he’s worth the time to see. And now he is coming into the area with his new album in tow. Songs from Familiar, which features 13 new songs and one live recording about the lives we all live, will be mingled with songs from Mr Briody’s first album, When No One’s Watching, on Sunday, September 16. The Ridgefield resident will be at Richter House that afternoon for a 3 o’clock concert. Admission is by voluntary contribution. The venue is at 100 Aunt Hack Lane in Danbury, off Mill Plain Road. I’m not sure if there are signs for Richter House, but if you follow the signs for Richter Golf Course, you’ll end up at the house as well. Bring blankets or low chairs for seating; the show will move indoors if there is rain. Additional information is available at 748-7177 or on Mr Briody’s Web page, ww.KevinBriody.com.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you… on the road.
