An Incredible Annual Gift
To the Editor:
It was a privilege and impossible task to judge the Labor Day Parade. This year’s parade was so full of energy, fun, patriotism and diversity. There was something for everyone. Thanks to Beth Caldwell and the entire parade committee for honoring the Cyrenius H. Booth Library by asking staff members to be judges. The Write On, Newtown! theme is near and dear to our hearts, especially with our New Stories for Newtown youth publishing event going on. (Come on Newtown students, 19 and under, get those written and illustrated submissions in by the October 31 deadline and see your work published next to your favorite authors and illustrators.) Our deepest congratulations go to our wonderful Grand Marshal abd Newtown treasure, Sydney Eddison.
Beside the pure joy of the entire parade experience, we had the perfect vantage point to see the efforts of the hard working and dedicated Labor Day Parade committee and its team of volunteers. Thank you all for this incredible, annual gift that you give to our town. All awards and kudos should go to you!
