Winifred E. “Winnie” Harrington, 84, a longtime Newtown resident, and previously of Saugus, Mass., died peacefully September 10, at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Paul J. Harrington. She was born in Medford, Mass., August 1, 1929, a daughter of Winifred (Dutot) and John Forshner.

She grew up in Everett, Mass., and was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1947.

The Harringtons raised their family in Newtown.

Her sons Timothy J. Harrington, and his wife Michele, of San Diego, Calif., and Thomas E. Harrington, and his wife Jennifer, of Danbury; her six grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Casey, Tyler, Tessa, and Phillip; and two great-grandchildren survive Mrs Harrington.

Funeral services will take place Friday, September 13, at 10 am, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call Thursday, September 12, from 5 to 8 pm.
