What’s That Sound?

To the Editor:

“Somethin’s Happening Here ... What It Is Ain’t Exactly Clear;  Stop Children, What’s That Sound?”  ... It’s the right-wing “hate machine” in full swing!  If it is bad to have school children (especially elementary aged) hear the President speak to them, then why do we permit a “Pledge of Allegiance” to the big, bad government to be broadcast to, and repeated by, impressionable school children each day in schools?  Wait a minute ... Is my flag flying on my house each day because I’ve been brainwashed since my youth? Noooo!

Prepublication of teacher lesson plans to parents for review and acceptance, and to assure their is no “Socialist/Communist/Nazi” (“SCN”) propaganda included therein, is the next logical step.  After all, parental approval could easily be done “online.”  Parental “taste-testers” in the cafeteria/lunchroom would come after that, to assure that the “liberal-left” is not placing a “mind altering” additive in those little milk containers or in the mac & cheese!  Better yet ... cancel all hot lunches which could be “SCN” targets ... just have the kids “brown bag” it!  Nah, that’s no good!  What if some “SCN” slips something into the bag?  Fuggetaboutit!  No lunches! “Paranoia Strikes Deep; Into Your Heart It Will Creep!”

Why do I feel much better when I’m watching sports or an old movie on TV and not watching cable news? Better yet, I’ll read a book!
