Two Shows This Season At KAA Gallery
KENT â Kent Art Association has opened its Elected Artist Invitational and Zufar Bikbov Solo Show, each running to September 27. The elected artists show offers original works by KAA Elected Artists, while the second show presents more than 20 of Mr Zufarâs original works.
Zufar Bikbov was born in 1974 in Russia. Since he learned to hold pencil and brush in his hand, Mr Bikbov was mentored by his father, a gifted engineer and artist.
âI drew and painted with watercolors under the encouraging eye of my father,â said the artist. âAt home we had professional paints, brushes, paper and dozens of fine art books. Learning about art was fascinating and the process of painting was pure magic for me. As a young child, I mimicked whatever my father was drawing. Because I was ready and enthusiastic learner, my father was encouraged to teach me as much as he knew.
âI love to work with oils, which allow me to be flexible and deeply expressive,â he continued. âGraduating from classic realism approach art school later trough years I experimented. I am now developing a style, true to myself, based on things essential to life and human experience. Realism is not forgotten either.â
The Gallery at Kent Art Association is at 21 South Main Street (Route 7, south of the monument) in Kent. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. For additional information call 860-927-3989 or visit KentArt.org.
