Noise Enforcement
Police said they conducted a traffic noise enforcement program on Glen Road, near its intersection with Walnut Tree Hill Road, on the afternoons of September 3 and 4.
In that project, police observed 27 motorcyclists, two of whom were found to be in violation of state regulations for having altered their motorcycles' mufflers to increase exhaust noise, according to police.
Police said they issued written warnings to the two motorcyclists, requiring them to resolve the exhaust noise problems before using the motorcycles again.
Three Charges
About 9 pm on September 8, Newtown police, aided by Bethel police, served an arrest warrant at a home in Bethel against a 17-year-old male in connection with a June 2008 crime at a Country Squire Road home in Sandy Hook.
Police said they charged the youth with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, and third-degree criminal mischief.
In June 2008, the youth allegedly broke into the Country Squire Road home and stole items including a laptop computer, diamond ring, and a collection of pens, police said. The value of the items stolen exceeded $2,500, according to police.
Following arrest processing, police held the youth on $50,000 bail for a September 9 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court. Because the youth is under age 18, state law shields his identity from public disclosure.
Assault
Police said they responded to Hot Shots Grille, Restaurant, and Tap Room at 130 Mt Pleasant Road about 12:16 am on September 9 after receiving a report that an assault had occurred there.
Police said they arrested Anderson Silva, 30, of Danbury on charges of third-degree assault and breach of peace in the incident, which resulted in minor injuries to a male victim.

Alcohol
About 6 pm September 4, police received a report that beer cans were being thrown out from a vehicle in the Queen Street area, so they investigated the complaint.
Police said that on finding that vehicle, they investigated. Police said they determined that Quentin Ham, 21, of 5 Birch Rise Drive was a backseat passenger in that vehicle and had been throwing the beer cans out of the vehicle. Police said they issued Ham an infraction for littering.
Police said that a 17-year-old male was driving the vehicle. Police charged that youth with possession of alcohol by a minor and with violating passenger restrictions on drivers under age 18.
Because the person charged is under age 18, his identity is shielded from disclosure by state law. Police said the incident was handled by their underage alcohol enforcement unit.
