At The Blue Z

A collection of paintings by the artist Arline Corcoran has opened at The Blue Z Coffeehouse, 127 South Main Street in Newtown.

The latest in The Blue Z’s monthly shows of new local art will have an opening celebration on Sunday, September 13. The public is invited to meet the artist from 3 to 5 that afternoon.

A resident of Danbury, Ms Corcoran enjoys color and always has her eye open and her camera ready for the perfect painting. She has taken art classes at Western Connecticut State University, at the former Wooster Community Art Center, and with local artists. She is a member of Richter Association for the Arts, Candlewood League of Artists, and The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown.

In addition to the current presentation in Newtown, her paintings have been shown and sold in local art shows including The Richter Art Association Annual Juried Art Shows, The Silo Gallery at Hunt Hill Farm in New Milford, the gallery at White Silo Farm & Winery in Sherman, and shows in Litchfield and Redding.

“I just thoroughly enjoy painting and the wonderful feeling of satisfaction from producing my art,” said Ms Corcoran.

The exhibit at The Blue Z has been curated and installed by A-Z Museum Services (a-zMuseumsvc.com). The Sandy Hook-based company, founded by Adam Zuckerman, works with museums and collectors across the United States and has been the curator for The Blue Z since its opening in the spring.
