NVCC Plans Tour Night

WATERBURY — Tours and cruises are becoming increasingly popular ways to travel. Naugatuck Valley Community College will offer a dinner presentation highlighting several tours and cruises to destinations throughout the world sponsored by Collette Tours on Wednesday, October 4.

 The $17 registration fee includes a gourmet meal prepared by students in the school’s Hospitality Management Program, which has been honored with the National Restaurant Association’s Award of Excellence as the top food education program in Connecticut and third runner-up in the nation. It prepares students for several types of food service careers and related positions.

Tours that will be previewed include Alaska, London, and Paris. Typical travelers are adults but students and children are welcome. Many of the trips offered provide an opportunity for multi-generational travel experiences. The dinner begins at 6 pm and the presentation will end at about 9 pm. This is planned as a fun, upbeat evening, including prizes for those who know their travel facts. Participants must register by September 27.
