Aileen M. Agius

Aileen M. Agius, 75, wife of Jerome G. Agius of Bridgewater, died at Danbury Hospital on September 5.

She was born in Johnstown, Penn., May 2, 1929, daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (Mandichek) O’Dowd.

In addition to her husband, Aileen is survived by her children, Daniel Agius and his wife Jacquelyn of Newtown, Patrick Agius and his wife Kate of Danbury, Christine Nelson and her husband, Dr John Nelson of Mount Kisco, N.Y., and Marianne Altobelli and her husband Ramon of Menasha, Wis.; a sister, Carol Anne O’Dowd of Johnstown, Penn.; a brother, Patrick O’Dowd of Baltimore, Md; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Donnalee Kalinyak and Patsy Becker.

Aileen was a graduate of the Jefferson Medical Center School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Penn. She had been a resident of Ridgefield for 27 years, prior to moving to Bridgewater ten years ago. Aileen had been a member of St Mary’s Church while in Ridgefield and was an active member of St Joseph Church in Brookfield. She and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 24, 2003.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Joseph Church, Brookfield on September 9. Burial took place in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
