Stephen John Hodge, of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, born August 18, 1958, in Toronto, Canada, and raised in Newtown, passed away September 4 at the age of 62.

As a member of both the Newtown High School varsity wrestling and football teams, Stephen and his fellow athletes won several state championships.

In his free time, Stephen enjoyed camping, kayaking, motorcycle touring, and model trains. Stephen worked in communications for AT&T in field engineering, combining his technical skills and love for working outdoors.

Stephen is survived by his five siblings, Michael of New Jersey, Christopher of Connecticut, Linda Ritt of Virginia, Beth Basile of Pennsylvania, and Jenny Okamoto of Indiana; stepbrothers Mark Duckworth of New Hampshire and Lee Duckworth of Rhode Island; stepfather Robert Duckworth of Rhode Island; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Stephen will be laid to rest with his beloved mother, Jean Duckworth, at a graveside service with be held this Saturday, September 12, 1 pm, at Zoar Cemetery.
