Time To Drop The Curtain On Washington's Three-Ring Circus
Time To Drop The Curtain
On Washingtonâs Three-Ring Circus
To the Editor:
I thought a circus was a traveling company, comprised of performers that included clowns, acrobats, tightrope walkers, trained animals, musicians, and trapeze acts. âWe the Peopleâ can see the circus at anytime. We do not have to travel to another state or another city or town. All we need to do is turn on the television. Viewers will be able to see the three-ring circus, based in Washington D.C. We have the Whitehouse, Senate, and House, performing acts that the American people are sick and tired of seeing.
The length of a circus artistâs career is dependent on their discipline. An acrobatâs career is much shorter than that of a juggler. A trapeze artistâs career is much shorter than that of a clown. A traveling circus is always looking to hire new people to keep their acts fresh. The problems with the circus in Washington are many. âWe the Peopleâ have seen too many acts that are old and stale. The jugglers canât juggle; they spend money with reckless abandon. The musicians went on a summer hiatus while our country was in a financial crisis. There are too many clowns. Clowns are supposed to make you laugh. The clowns in Washington have spread anger and dismay across this country. The same clowns have been there far too long.
I think the three-ring circus in Washington has many of the same characteristics as a condom. The Washington circus, as does a condom, inflates. The Washington circus, as does a condom, halts production. The Washington circus, as does a condom, prevents future generations from flourishing. Last but not least, the Washington circus, as does a condom, offers a false sense of protection and security while âWe the Peopleâ are getting screwed. We have been sold out by the Washington circus. It is time to vote them all out!!
