Spa Owner To Speak At
Next Working Womenâs Forum
The Working Womenâs Forum, an association of local professionals and entrepreneurs, will feature Carol Romer, owner of a New Beginning, the Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Day Spa located in the Stony Hill section of Bethel. The program will be held Wednesday, September 14, at The Villa Restaurant, 4 Riverside Road in Sandy Hook.
Ms Romer began her business in 1977, working in a converted porch attached to her home. During her first seven years she worked to balance raising a family as a single mother, and becoming a successful entrepreneur.
She took her passion for beauty to a new level when she introduced her clientele to Aveda, one of the first beauty companies to endorse a set of principles designed to encourage greater environmental responsibly in business. Her environmental focus continues in her salon today with a team consisting of more than 30 employees.
The program and appetizer fee is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers with a cash bar. The group will also accept canned food, personal health, and beauty items for Newtownâs food pantries.
Networking and appetizers begin at 6 pm, followed by the guest speaker. For reservations call 203-426-7022, or email rsvp@workingwomensforum.net.
