Planning Annual Open House
The Newtown Newcomers & Neighbors Club will host its annual open house on Tuesday, September 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, at Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. Admission is free.
Founded in 1995 and originally known as The Welcome Wagon Club, the name was changed to reflect the clubâs commitment to all Newtown residents. The club provides an opportunity for both new and longtime residents to meet new people and participate in various social activities. Activities include childrenâs playgroups, morning and evening book clubs, monthly restaurant reviews, movie nights, a walking group, bridge games and Coffee Talks held every other month for members to meet each other.
The club also hosts an annual casino night for adults and an annual childrenâs party for families.
Membership is $35 per year (the club year runs from September to June). Anyone interested in joining the club can attend up to three events as a guest before joining, with the exception of playgroups.
For more information on the open house, contact Layne Lescault at 203-270-6481. Additional club information is available at NewtownNewcomers.com.
