Equine Anatomy Course At Post
Equine Anatomy Course At Post
WATERBURY â How many horse lovers have wondered what goes on inside their horse? Most enjoy the outside of the horse, but give less thought to how the various parts of a horseâs anatomy all combine to produce the amazing âmachineâ we love to watch in the field, ride on trails or competition, or just relieve our stress by grooming â how does our horse make this all happen? The answer to the question can be discovered by attending the equine anatomy evening class at Post Universityâs main campus on the Waterbury/Middlebury line.
The next in the current series of evening courses run by the Equine Department will start on Monday, October 3, at 6:30 pm, and run through November 21. This course covers the anatomy of the horse from the skeletal system to the function of body systems, to the horseâs senses to what we need to know to keep it all working to the hilt. The course will also cover information on conformation and performance.
The instructor will be Jamison Wallace, who has decades of experience in the horse industry and has been a popular riding instructor and 4-H leader in the area as well. Ms Wallace is president of Centered Riding and is a Level III instructor.
Any horse lovers and owners who wish to learn more valuable information about equine anatomy are invited to attend this course. The Equine Husbandry Series of courses can be taken in any order and are open to anyone interested â no prerequisites are required. Each course runs for eight weeks, one evening per week for three hours. Students can earn CEU credits or take the courses for personal enrichment. The equine anatomy course will run from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on the Waterbury Campus of Post University (located near exit 17 off I-84). Classes meet in MacDermid Hall, Room 209.
To take the classes for personal enrichment and a Post University Certificate, the cost for each course is $375. To earn CEU credits the cost is $525 per course. To register or for more information, call the Equine Department at Post University at 203-596-4631/4653 or e-mail cbaker@Post.edu.
