Of ‘Heaven’

During the storm with power out our neighbor Ray Ruzek has a business that also lost power. After recently opening their family business Ice Cream Heaven in Sandy Hook on Glen Road, they stored their ice cream at a local church. Unfortunately for Ray, he had to move some of the ice cream as the church needed the storage.

I have been to Heaven several times this summer and the experience has always been great! Greeted with smiles and fabulous ice cream and great prices. On Monday after the storm, Ray took us by surprise by backing into my driveway and unloading three huge buckets of ice cream. This was too much for my family to eat so and I was afraid it may melt. So, I called one of my neighbors and had her help me spread the word that we were having an ice cream party at 7 pm on Maltbie Road … all they needed to bring was a spoon and the family. We all had a great time eating the delicious ice cream and topped it off with chocolate and peanut chips, Hershey’s syrup, and lots of sprinkles!

Knowing Ray, I knew he wouldn’t mind sharing this delicious cold treat! So, all that attended the Tropical Storm Irene’s Ice Cream Social on Maltbie Road: “A Special Thanks Goes To ‘Heaven’ Ice Cream Shop Owners!”
