'Picasso' At The Little Theatre Begins This Weekend
 âPicassoâ At The Little Theatre
Begins This Weekend
Town Players of Newtown will present legendary actor-comedian Steve Martinâs clever comedy, Picasso At The Lapin Agile, beginning this weekend.
The year is 1904. The place is the Paris bar Le Lapin Agile â a hangout for artists, writers, and other eccentrics who are leading the charge for the new centuryâs avant-garde.
As 25-year-old Albert Einstein awaits the arrival of a female friend, he runs into 23-year-old Pablo Picasso. Each man is on the verge of a professional breakthrough, but in 1904 they are simply full of youthful passion and egotism. They commence debating, each sure he is the one who holds the key to the new centuryâs greatest idea.
When a visitor from the future arrives, playwright Martin adds a third major influence from the 20th Century. The big question is which of the three will have the biggest impact on humanity â art, science, or pop culture?
The production will run September 9-25, with curtain on Fridays and Saturdays at 8. Sunday afternoon matinees will also be offered, each weekend at 2 pm.
Tickets for all shows are $20 for adults, and $10 for children under 10 years old.
Reservations can be made by calling the box office at 203-270-9144.For more information, visit NewtownPlayers.org or send email to info@newtownplayers.org.
