Lemonade And Lessons For Children
Lemonade And Lessons For Children
Dear Editor,
I would like to thank the passerbys who stopped and bought refreshments from our neighborhood children last Thursday and Friday afternoons. After school the kids sold lemonade (and cookies) to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
All of us were overwhelmed by the generosity of the people who stopped. In the course of two afternoons, the children collected over $375 to be donated to the American Red Cross.
The lesson that the children took away from this experience is threefold: even a child can make a difference in someoneâs life, people can be truly giving and we must be grateful for what we have.
I am so proud of you â Katie, Meagan, Mary, Adam, Maggie, Grace, April, Molly, Brendan and Ryan!
