Hurricane Katrina

Relief

For the month of September, Newtown Youth Services will display a “Jar of Hope.” Any contributions received by NYS will be donated to relief efforts in the Gulf Region. We thank you for your generosity!

Individual youth and family counseling available. Please call for further information.

Many Thanks to the Sandy Hook Hair Co., which is generously donating $1 to Newtown Youth Services for every Shhh…Co. product sold.

Moms Groups

Moms of babies ages birth to 12 months will meet on Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 am beginning September 27. The fee is $25 for ten weeks.

Moms of Toddlers ages 1 year to 18 months will meet on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 am beginning September 28. The fee is $25 for ten weeks.

Both of these groups will meet in Newtown Youth Service’s Parents’ Corner.

Moms of Multiples will meet once a month, on Fridays from 10:30 to 11:30 am, in the lower level of the Newtown United Methodist Church, beginning on September 30. There is no fee for this group.

Gym Time: Toddlers to preschoolers meet at the Edmond Town Hall gym on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 am beginning on September 29. The fee is $30 for ten weeks.

Please call NYS to register for any of the above groups.

The Hope And Support Group

If you are a parent with questions or concerns about your child’s possible or confirmed involvement with substances, you are welcome to attend this group. Meetings are held every Monday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

Newtown Parent Connection

Norm Bossio is back! The Newtown Parent Connection is very pleased to announce that Mr Bossio will return to kickoff this year’s forum on Tuesday, September 20, at 7 pm, at Newtown High School. “Ah Parenthood: How to burn the candle at both ends without burning out,” will be the focus of his presentation. This forum has been moved to the high school to accommodate the expected crowd. Mark your calendars for this one-of-a-kind evening!

Youth Programs

All community service groups are gearing up. Please watch for announcements of times and locations.

NYCAAP —This group will meet on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at NYS.
