Friendly Visitors Offering Training

BETHEL — There are many elderly people in the greater Danbury/New Milford area waiting for a friend. The Friendly Visitor Program, sponsored by the Volunteer Center Serving Western Connecticut, will be holding Friendly Visitor training for individuals interested in becoming a friend to an isolated homebound senior.

The next free training session is scheduled for Saturday, September 17, from 9 am to 1 pm, at Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road. Lunch will be provided.

No experience is necessary. After completing the training, participants will be matched with an older adult based on location and common interests.
