BOYS U13

Strikers 2, Trumbull 2 – Michael Renz and Kyle Moore scored the goals to lift the Strikers to a tie. Daniel Hufziger provided an assist. Alex Miller and Thomas Capozziello controlled the midfield. Daniel Lynch powered the offense while Tony Vacaro was strong on defense. Michael Carrafiello played well. Kyle Wildman had great saves in the goal.

Strikers 4, Naugatuck 0 – Kyle Moore scored a pair of goals. Daniel Lynch and Tony Vacaro added one apiece. Aaron Nezvesky recorded two assists and Moore had one. Pressure was led by Ryan Pasko and Russell Morgan. Strong defensive support came from Michael Gould and Tony Vacaro. Kyle Wildman shut out Naugatuck in the goal.

Strikers 1, Shelton 1 – Michael Renz scored the lone Newtown goal (a header) from a cross from Kyle Moore. Strong offensive pressure was led by Russell Morgan, Alex Miller and Michael Carrafiello. Michael Gould and Daniel Hufziger played well.

Monroe 2, Strikers 0 – Lots of effort but the Strikers fell to Monroe. Alex Miller, Ryan Pasko and Aaron Nezvesky played well in the midfield. Thomas Capozziello, Daniel Hufziger and Daniel Lynch never gave up in the offense. Kyle Wildman had great saves in the goal.

GIRLS U13

Roadrunners 4, Wilton White 0 – Meghan Gonzalez, Sarah Murtha, Kaitlin Brophy and Alex Israel all scored with assists from Jamie Crespo and KellyAnne Brophy. Jill Jagoe, Becca Jaroszewski and Kristin Stoller neutralized the Wilton midfield. 

Roadrunners 2, Darien 2 – Shannon Paproski had a great finish on a corner kick by KellyAnne Brophy, who also scored the second goal. Sarah Murtha and Emma Kingsley played superb midfield. 

Roadrunners 2, Wilton Blue 0 – Kaitlin Brophy and KellyAnne Brophy netted goals against a tough Wilton team. The defense of Ali Pliszka, Kelly O’Connor and Sarah Attanasio neutralized the Wilton offense as Casey Rutter notched another shutout. Becca Castegner kept constant pressure on the offensive end.

Roadrunners 2, Ridgefield 0 – Casey Rutter was great in goal again for her third shutout of the tournament, as the Roadrunners were the first team to shut out previously undefeated Ridgefield. The defensive trio of Ali Pliszka, Kelly O’Connor and Sarah Attanasio were outstanding again. KellyAnne Brophy and Jamie Crespo scored the goals.
