Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue’s 28th Annual George & Timothy Powell Golf Tournament, which serves as a fundraiser for the company, will be on Monday, September 28.

The tournament will be played Newtown Country Club, 1 Country Club Road. The course is a nine-hole, so golfers will be playing the course twice.

Registration is $125 per golfer. This includes breakfast at the Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue main station beginning at 7:30 am, 18 holes of golf with a cart, and dinner at the country club, including three-hour open bar (beer and wine). There will also be trophies and cash prizes, and a raffle with many different items up for bid.

The golf will start promptly at 9 am with a “siren” start, rain or shine. A scramble format will be used.

Registration forms are available at the Sandy Hook main station, 18-20 Riverside Road, and are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. They are also available through the company’s website, sandyhookfire.com.

Registrations returned with full payment will be given preference unless other arrangements have been made.
