Susan L. Kocis died peacefully July 24, in Newtown. Born to Gladys D. and John J. Kocis of Trumbull, she was a graduate of Trumbull High School and Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Fla.

She was an accomplished graphic artist who worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Mo., and was an art director and graphic designer at Davidoff and Partners in Fairfield.

She loved boating, fishing, windsurfing, camping, skiing, building furniture, cooking, gardening, and spending time at the beach. In addition to her passion for art, Susan had a love of history, and while living in Savannah she worked as a tour guide for Old Town Trolley Tours, sharing her knowledge of the Savannah area.

Her sister Amy Potucek, and her husband John, of Sandy Hook; her brother John Kocis, and his wife Rosemary, of Monroe; and three nieces survive Ms Kocis. A brother, Norman Kocis, predeceased her.

The family will celebrate her life with a private memorial service.
