Six Charges

About 10:13 pm September 5, police served a warrant against John C. Allen, 33, of Sodus, N.Y., at a Hanover Road residence, charging Allen with six offenses stemming from an August 2004 incident in Newtown.

Police said the crimes stem from Allen’s alleged use of a stolen credit card. Police charged Allen with first degree failure to appear in court, violation of probation, credit card theft, third degree identity theft, charging less than $500 on a revoked credit card, and sixth degree larceny.

Police held Allen on $30,000 bail for a September 6 court arraignment.

Breach of Peace

Police said that Gary Petroski, 63, of Easton turned himself over to them on September 5 after learning that they a held a warrant for his arrest.

Police charged Petroski with breach of peace for allegedly having thrown a cup of coffee at another person during an altercation at 151 South Main Street on June 24. Police released Petroski on a promise to appear in court on September 20.

Camera Found

Police report that a digital camera was found inside a camera bag at the intersection of Main Street and Sugar Street following the Labor Day Parade on September 4. The owner should contact Sergeant Darlene Froehlich at the police station at 3 Main Street, telephone 426-5841, to claim the items which police are holding for safekeeping.
