Prayer For Social, Personal Change
LITCHFIELD â âAfrican-American Prayer for Social and Personal Change,â conducted by the Reverend Shelley D.B. Copeland, will be presented at Wisdom House on Saturday, September 23, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Using the Bible story of Zelophehadâs daughters, participants will experience African-American spirituality and see how praying passionately can change things personally as well as socially and globally.
A graduate of Yale University Divinity School, Rev Copeland is the executive director of Capital Region Conference of Churches. She is also a member of the ministry staff of Metropolitan AME Zion church in Hartford.
Fee for the program is $15, which includes lunch. This retreat is made possible through a grant from the Daughters of Wisdom.
