Newtown Historical Society To Host September Antiques Show

Newtown Historical Society will present its Annual Autumn Antiques Show on Sunday, September 24, from 10 am to 4 pm. The event will be in the gymnasium of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street (Route 25), and Nancy Taylor is again serving as the show manager.

“With the popularity of our Annual March Shows over the past 21 years the historical society decided several years ago to give our dealers and our customers another opportunity to view and purchase collections of antiques and collectibles,” said Mrs Taylor. “Collectors will find quality items spanning all areas of interests and eras.

Among the dealers at the fall show will be Caroline Dirsa of Orange, and returning all the way from Maine will be Eric Stang and Jeffrey Searles of Indian Pipe Antiques.

Steve and Ginny Balser of Old Horizon Antiques will also return, with quality primitives and early furniture.  Antiques To You – with Denise Broderick and Joe Liszka – will be attending from Massachusetts.

Beverly Dutton Antiques always has an attractive display of Victorian era items, and the Pirozzolis of Sport Hill Antiques of Redding will be returning to the show.

They may not be mentioned here, “but be sure many of your favorites are returning,” said Mrs Taylor.

Admission to the show is $5, with the proceeds of the fundraiser benefiting the historical society’s free public programs as well as the preservation of the Matthew Curtiss House Museum and its collections. The circa 1750 Curtiss House, across the street at 44 Main Street, will also be open on September 24.
