Wilford âBillâ Olson
Wilford âBillâ Olson, 74, of 114 Beaver Brook Road, Danbury, died September 6 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Marty T. (Laskowski) Olson.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Thomas Bowen of Newtown.
Born in Danbury on June 29, 1926, he was a son of the late Einar and Thelma (Stevens) Olson.
Mr Olson was a US Navy World War II veteran, serving on the USS Tennessee. He was a toolmaker by trade and was employed by Capitol Machine for 25 years before going to work for Amphenol Corp. He retired from Amphenol after 10 years of service. He was also a Danbury special police officer in the 1970s.
Mr Olson was a lifetime member, past vice president, and past lieutenant of the Beaver Brook Volunteer Firehouse.
Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by two sons, Karl and Paul E., both of Danbury; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald E. and Barbara Olson of New Milford; a sister, Betty Ellis Cummings of Sarasota, Fla.; an aunt, Hulda A. Olson of Bethel; two grandchildren, Joseph Thomas Bowen and Katherine Olson Bowen; a foster brother, Frank Merritt of Phoenix, Ariz.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Burial followed in St Peter Cemetery.
