Lecture On Mayan Hero-Twins
WASHINGTON â The Institute for American Indian Studies will present a special lecture by Nadzia Borowski of Bethlehem, a specialist on the ancient Maya Indians, on Saturday, September 23. The presentation will be at IAIS at 2 pm.
The informal lecture will feature the âPopul Vuh,â a Mayan creation myth that encompasses the creation of the world and the âHero Twins.â Ms Borowski will use visuals to enhance her presentation.
The talk is appropriate for children as young as third grade and is equally informative for older students and adults. Connecticut educators can earn 0.1 CEU for participation.
The program takes approximately 45 minutes and will be followed by 15 minutes of questions. Reservations are recommended. The lecture will be included in the regular IAIS admission fee of $4 for adults and $2 for children.
