Apples And More At Church Festival

MIDDLEBURY — The public is invited to attend St John of the Cross Church’s annual apple festival, being held this year on Saturday, September 23, from 10 am to 4 pm, at Shepardson Community Center on Whittemore Road.

Included among the festivities will be a giant tag sale, Book Nook, Tot and Things (a used clothing sale), children’s games, tractor-hay rides, face paintings, and bocce.

Food will be plentiful, with everything from fried dough and barbecue chicken to cider and pastries. Attendees may also purchase any of the dozens of homemade apple pies made by the church ladies.

A “Clothesline Quilt Sale” will be held inside the community center, where handmade quilts will be on display including dozens of miniature/doll quilts made by the St John of the Cross’ quilting group, and antique and used quilts, all for sale. A quilter’s tag sale table is also planned, which will include quilting books, magazines and fabric scraps.

For additional information, the church office can be reached by calling 203/758-2659.
