To the Editor:

On behalf of the race organizers, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the runners, sponsors, and volunteers of the seventh annual Newtown Road Race 5K. We had 565 registered runners in this year’s 5K and many smiling children participate in the kids fun run.

Several town departments help us pull this race off every year and we would like to extend special thanks to the Newtown Police Department, Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Highway Department and Parks & Recreation for their cooperation. Once again, thanks to The Newtown Bee for its usual great coverage of the race.
