Football Walk Targets Liver Diseases

HARTFORD — Teams are forming all over Connecticut for a football-themed, 5k walk to draw attention to liver diseases that affect more than 25 million men, women and children nationwide — one in ten Americans. The walk, which drew 950 people and raised $98,000 for liver disease research and education last year, will take place at 9 am September 23 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, home of the UConn Huskies.

The Connecticut Chapter of the American Liver Foundation urges families, friends, , and civic groups to form teams and join the fight against diseases that often are silent killers. The River 105.9-FM, WTNH-TV and Aetna are major sponsors of this year’s walk.

To register, call Marla Sadler at the Connecticut Chapter of the American Liver Foundation, 203-234-2022, or email her at msadler@liverfoundation.org.
