Going Green For Fall
The Holmes Fine Gardens Second Annual Eco-Symposium and Fall Festival is set for Sunday, September 16, from 10 am to 3 pm, at the garden center just west of the Route 6/25 interchange at 144 Mt Pleasant Road. Homespun gifts and produce will be available along with environmentally friendly businesses and nonprofits with volunteers to help educate and inform consumers and visitors.
There will be presentations on health-related issues such as water quality from the Pootatuck Watershed Association, and one of the stateâs only B-20 biofuel suppliers is expected to discuss his alternative offering.
Sandy Hook-based Our Green House will be featured, offering a variety of green household cleaning supplies.
Also available, crafters and kettle corn, games, music activities, and plenty of advice on how to make a yard or business property more organic and aesthetically pleasing from Dan Holmes.
