To Host 6th Annual Dog Show

BETHLEHEM — The Antiquarian & Landmarks Society’s Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden will present the 6th Annual Dog Show on Saturday, September 15, from 1 to 4 pm. Celebrating dogs of all shapes, sizes and colors, prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories with every dog becoming a winner.

Dogs must be registered in advance, up-to-date on their shots, and be on a leash. Stray spectators are also welcome. Call 203-266-7596 for a registration form. The cost is $6 per dog (one owner free), $6 for persons without a dog, and $2 for children.

The Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden is located at 9 North Main Street in Bethlehem.

Other dog show activities will include agility demonstrations by dog trainer Jack Crann of Peace of Mind Canine in Bethlehem; therapy dog demonstrations by the Delta Society, whose mission is to improve health through service and therapy animals; Georgia Sheron will be available to take professional photographs of your dog; a dog obstacle course; and an arts and crafts workshop for owners.

Participants will learn about the work and volunteer opportunities of Guiding Eyes for the Blind, who will bring puppies in training. ReGap volunteers will be on site to introduce gentle greyhounds and provide information about retired greyhound adoption, and the CT Humane Society will be providing information about pet care and adoption.

The Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden is open for regular tours on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. Admission is $7 for adults; $6 for students, teachers and seniors; $4 for children age 6-18; children under 6 and A&L members are free. Families (two adults with children) are $15; groups of ten or more are $5 each.
