Newtown Choral Society will be starting rehearsals this month ahead of a winter concert planned for mid-December.

Rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 13, at 7-9 pm, at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street. Singers will begin working on the program for NCS’s winter concert, set for Sunday, December 3, at Newtown Meeting House.

Now in its 37th year, Newtown Choral Society accepts members from all surrounding communities and has openings in all voices. NCS offers a supportive environment for anyone looking to begin or return to singing.

Mary Andreotta, who has been involved with the choral society since 1987 as a member and treasurer, as director since 1998, will return to direct again this season. Susan Anthony-Klein is the choir’s accompanist.

The choir traditionally performs a winter and spring concert, and is available to perform at community events.
