Marion E. Mead, 75, of Bowersville, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 13th, 1948, in Norwalk Conn., she was the daughter of the late Harold Smith and Hazel Ferris Smith. Marion was many things to many people, but most notable she was a loving wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than sitting and hearing about everyone’s hectic lives. She loved to laugh with those around her and enjoyed sharing stories about her amazing life.

She loved to sing and dance, decorate cookies with her grandchildren and go on ice cream adventures with her two youngest granddaughters.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years: John S. Mead; four sons: Jim Mead (Missy) of Mt Holly, N.J., Dave Mead (Kim) & Wayne Mead (Laura) all of Bowersville and Ray Mead (Jackie) of Alexandria, Ky.; a brother: Harvey Smith of Norwalk, Conn.; two sisters: Jane Lemmon of Monroe, N.C. and Carolyn Byxbee of Bantam, Conn.; seven grandchildren also survive. Marion was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Robert “Chopper” Smith.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Mrs Marion Mead will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 10:30 am at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mrs Mead’s ashes were placed in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Memorial Garden, Hartwell Ga.
