Friends of Newtown Seniors (FONS) is at it again.

Having just hosted their first theater reception, the local group is already planning its next new event. FONS will host an OktoberFest celebration early next month at NewSylum Brewing.

Newtown senior citizens are invited to the new brewery at Fairfield Hills, on Wednesday, October 5. From 5:30 to 8 pm, registered guests will celebrate with food and drink.

Tickets are $26 per person, which covers the first drink of choice, chicken schnitzel, red cabbage, spatzle, dessert, and tip. Additional drinks can be purchased during the event, which will be outdoors under a tent.

Tickets will be going on sale September 6. They will be available by calling 203-430-0633 and also at the front desk of Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street.

Tickets must be purchased by September 30. They will not be sold at the door, and refunds will not be issued.
