Afternoon Of Poetry Readings

On Saturday, September 8, at 2 pm the C.H. Booth Library at 25 Main Street will be sponsoring an afternoon of poetry with two poets, Doris Henderson and Janet Krauss.

Doris Henderson’s poems have been published in literary journals and in anthologies such as Red Flower and Heartbeat of New England. A president of the Danbury Area chapter of Connecticut Poetry Society, she facilitates a monthly writing workshop. A former teacher and drama coach, she is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, and holds a master’s degree in English and comparative literature from Columbia University.

The poems of Janet Krauss have appeared in numerous quarterlies such as Amarath, The Dickinson Review, Jabberwock, Seattle Review, Macguffin, and Slant. Palanquin/TDM published a pamphlet of her poems in 1995. She also was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 1982 and 1995. Ms Krauss was a poetry editor and essayist for several local newspapers. She teaches literature and creative writing at Fairfield University, and also at St Basil’s College.
