A Special Year For The Book Sale
A Special Year For The Book Sale
To the Editor:
This year was a special year for us because we reached the 25th year for the C.H. Booth Library Labor Day Book Sale. To make this an unforgettable year, all the volunteers at the event wore shirts commemorating this fact and were called the âZang Gang.â
If you attended the book sale, I am sure you saw the famous blue and white tent called the food tent. This was the tent which supplied everyone a cooling drink or possibly a delicious hot dog, hamburger, or pizza slice. After that, you could go on to enjoy some homemade treats expertly served by Jeanne Roberts, Darlene, Karla and Jeffrey Spencer, Steve and Linda Uhde, Cliff Walker, Connie Urso, Mimi Moran, Susan Small, Dick Sturdevant, Howard Bowles, Bob Keegan, Alana Meloni, Bob, Carol, and Brian Pious, Ralph Scogno, Martha and Grace Galie, Christina Tomesello, Philomena Conti, Elizabeth Conti, Jessica Horvath, Anna Bingaman, Rabiya Ansari, Lindsey Malmborg, Kim Nash, also Destiney Mosher, Peter Bagger, Philip Kotch, and Chris Spiro. Many thanks to all the above workers.
Thank you to all who brought in baked goods.
We outdid ourselves this year due in part to the following merchants and friends: Andreaâs Bake Shop, Bagelman, Big Y, Blue Colony, Carminuccioâs Pizza & Subs, Crystal Rock Water Company, Drug Center, Dunkinâ Donuts of Newtown, Ellieâs Deli, Fireside Inn, Georgeâs Pizza & Restaurant, Grand Union, Hilarioâs Super Variety, Italian Pavilion, Leoâs, My Place Pizza, Newtown Congregational Church, Newtown Hardware, Newtown General Store, Newtown Pizza Palace, 7-Eleven, Stew Leonards, Stop & Shop, Thomasâ Deli, Craig and Connie Weatherup, and The Villa.
Again, thank you to all and see you next year.
Sincerely,
Marie Walker
