Truly A Community Event

To the Editor:

The Friends of the Library Book Sale was another phenomenal success this year! Many thanks to the volunteers who worked the sale, and to all who donated your books and then came and supported the efforts of the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library. Please accept our heartfelt thanks!

To our year-round book sale volunteers…how can we possibly thank you?

To Stop & Shop, Big Y, Newtown Hardware, WMNR, Curtis Packaging, and Pepsico Bottling Company, thank you for donating those quality of life items that made our job so much easier.

A special “thank you” goes to members of the Lions Club, who put their shoulders to the wheel this year. You have shown that this is not just a book sale –– it is a community event. We thank you for your support.

Boy Scout Troop 70 did a great job providing refreshments for all those hungry workers and shoppers. We thank you for your refreshments, baked goods, and for providing us with a pleasant place of respite.

To our “new kid on the block,” Joyce Goldin, who did such a superb job with our advertising –– thank you for sharing your creativity and writing skills.

And last, but certainly not least, thanks to Dave Roan and his staff at Tunxis Management for your cordiality and for keeping an eye on things for us.

We look forward to seeing all of you next year!
