Out Of Newtown Politics
Out Of Newtown Politics
To the Editor:
The Newtown gossip circuit has been really busy over the last few weeks starting with the defeat of the Fairfield Hills master plan. I recently received a call telling me about a series of emails and conversations being carried out in the Town Talk section of the online Bee. [newtownbee.com.] I am not a follower or a participant in any of this dialog and frankly, I have no intentions of doing so in the future.
As anyone knows who has read my letters to the editor, whatever my position is, I make it clear and sign my name and address to the letter. I am not about being transparent or ambiguous. If I have anything to say in public or about a public figure, I identify myself clearly as the source. Not like the pseudonym-clad gossipers who are afraid to identify themselves and their real motivations in spreading lies and deception.
I find this behavior to be rude, crude, insensitive, and debasing.
The NICE Party was my first and last political foray into Newtown politics with its unseemly and sordid political hacks. I brought up my family in Brooklyn, N.Y., thinking politics was a dirty business. Newtown political tactics makes New Yorkers look like amateurs.
Having read some of the comments made in the Town Talk that either are attributed to me or written to look like they come from me, I find these statements and the cowards they come from, to be offensive.
Despite what some people may think to the contrary, I carefully research and document any position I take. If I make a statement, I can back it up with verifiable proof. Call me, I have the supporting documents in my files. That is why Rosenthal is always trying to discredit me; because I tell the truth. If I hadnât, the town of Newtown would have surely sued me.
To set the record straight, I have not endorsed any candidates in this yearâs election and I do not intend to do such. As is my right, I will make my choice in the privacy of the voting booth.
