Regional Hospice Offers Fall Support Groups

DANBURY — Reigonal Hospice of Western Connecticut has begun open enrollment for its children and family support groups held at its 30 West Street headquarters.

The groups include the following:

Children and Teen Support Group, for children age four through 18 dealing with the death of a parent or sibling. Group meets twice monthly. Concurrent parent’s group is available.

Grandchildren Bereavement Support Group, starting September 11, a six session series on “Expressing and Coping with Grief” for children age six to 11 who have experienced the death of a grandparent.

Kids Kan, a six-session series to help children ages six to 12 to cope when a parent has cancer. Sessions begin October 10.

Bereavement Support Group for Parent Who Have Had an Adult Child Die, sessions are designed to help individuals better understand and cope with the thoughts and feelings that accompany a significant loss. Sessions begin September 18.

Adult Children Bereavement Support Group, if you are experiencing feelings of grief and loss due to the death of one or both of your parents. Eight-session group begins October 3.
