Stanley Freeman King

Retired Teamsters Member

Stanley Freeman King, 89, formerly of Newtown, died August 25 at The Watermark in Southbury. He was the husband of the late Ruth King. Mr King was born in Milford, October 7, 1919, son of Ruth (Johnson) and Sereno King. He was a great-grandson of Ezra Levan Johnson, Newtown’s first town historian, and Jane (Camp) Johnson.

A member of Teamsters, he was retired from McLean’s Trucking, and was an active member of team bowling for many years.

Mr King is survived by three brothers; and three sisters.

There are no calling hours and burial at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Carpino Funeral Home of Southbury.
