Family Flu Clinic Hosted By VNA
DANBURY â By recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Danbury Visiting Nurse is scheduling a seasonal flu Family Flu Clinic on Saturday, September 12, at the Maron Hotel and Suites, Mill Plain Road, from 10 am to 1 pm. Seasonal flu is highly contagious and a different strain than novel H1N1 (Swine Flu).
The additional month for seasonal flu immunizations gives the public a better opportunity to access clinics in the Danbury area. The flu shot is effective for the entire flu season.
Practicing good health habits help prevent seasonal flu. These include covering your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze, throwing used tissues away, washing hands well and regularly, avoiding close contact with sick people, and staying home from work when ill.
Novel H1N1 is not intended to replace the seasonal flu vaccine. Anyone from the age of 6 months to the elderly should get their annual seasonal flu shot.
