Newtown’s 57th annual Labor Day Parade marched its way through town on the morning of Monday, September 3. The 90-degree weather could not deter the dedicated community from coming out in droves to see the town’s much-anticipated event.
The parade’s theme of “Serving The Community” was supported with Bagel Delight owner Eunice Laverty as Grand Marshal.
Also, rounding out the line-up were local fire companies, marching bands, schools, groups and clubs, dancers, floats, military vehicles, politicians, and more.
All participants took the designated parade route, which started on Main Street at Currituck Road, then followed Main Street to Glover Avenue, turned northwest onto Queen Street, and continued to Church Hill Road.
