The 2004 Bertram Stroock Tournament and 2004 Victor Coopersmith Cup Junior Tournament will conclude this weekend at Dickinson Park.

The Newtown Tennis Association announced that semifinal and final round play in the Stroock Tournament will be played Saturday and Sunday (see schedule below) while final round play in the Coopersmith Cup will be played Sunday (see schedule below).

These are the pairings at press time (with some preliminary matches still to be played) –

 

Stroock Tournament Semis

 

Men’s Open Singles – #1 Bob Elliott versus winner of Tim Snyder/Bill Meier match and #2 Tim Hanley versus winner of Gerhardt Kutt/John Reisert match (semifinals and finals start at 10:30 am).

Women’s Open Singles – #1 Julie Stern versus winner of Barbara Snyder/Irene Fitzsimmons match and Stella Gabor versus winner of Anastasia Batzer/Helen Yee match (semifinals and finals start at 10:30 am).

Mixed Doubles – Gene and Lorraine Chappell versus the winner of the Barbara and Tim Snider/Bob and Stella Gabor match. The winners of that semifinal bracket will meet the winners of the Doug and Eileen Frattaroli/Hugh and Jan Lavery team in the finals. The #1 seed team of Bob and Lauren Elliott withdrew (semifinals and finals at 1:30 pm).

Women’s Open Doubles – #1 June Frost and Eileen Frattaroli versus Barbara Snyder and Helen Yee and Stella Gabor and Lorraine Chappell versus the winner of the Darlene Jackson and Julie Stern/Sonya Haskel and Jan Lavery match (semifinals and finals at 12 noon).

Men’s Open Doubles – #1 Bob Elliott and Tom Beauchemin versus the winner of the Colin and Forest Robertson/Jim Larin and Hugh Lavery match and Bob Lapple and Gene Chappell versus the winner of the Bruce and Chris Martin/Neil and Will Culligan match (semifinals and finals at 12 noon).

Men’s 55 Singles – #1 Dom Nocturne versus Hugh Lavery and Fred Steiner versus John Klopfenstein.
