Isidore Brier
Isidore Brier, 88, of 159 Huntingtown Road, died August 28. He was the husband of the late Pearl Brier.
Mr Brier was born December 17, 1916, in New York City.
He was a carpenter and retired member of the Bridgeport Carpenters Union and an Army veteran of World War II. As a member of the 65th Infantry Division, Sgt Brier was an anti-tank gunner in the European African Middle Eastern Theater of Operations. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground combat.
He is survived by two sons, Glen Brier of Newtown and Daniel Brier of Middlebury; a daughter, Deborah Andrews of Southbury; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr Brier was predeceased by a son, Ronald Brier.
Graveside services were held at Agudas Achim Cemetery, Fairfield.
The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North was in charge of arrangements.
