Many of these features were on display during an exclusive preopening walk-through provided to 

NSB officials announced the opening date for their new branch at 32 Church Hill Road will be Monday, September 25. The branch, including branch manager Ryan Storms and his entire staff, will relocate from the existing 39 Main Street address after close of business on Friday, September 22.

Each of the bank's 13 other branches will be open as usual on Saturday, September 23. The bank's administrative offices and the existing drive-up ATM will remain at 39 Main Street. The new branch will feature an expanded lobby as well as two drive-up banking lanes and both drive-up and walk-up ATMs. In addition to the branch, the new building will also house residential mortgage originators and the Newtown Investment Solutions team.

During the tour, Mr Weinstein explained that the main service floor and drive-up windows utilize a combination of electronic and mechanical systems that virtually eliminate cash drawers, enhancing both speed and security.

ATM and a lobby ATM, along with extended lobby hours that will match the drive-up hours.

The Church Hill Road branch will include a drive-up 

The branch and drive-up will be open Monday through Saturday at 9 am. It will close at 5 pm on Mondays, 4 pm and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 5:30 pm on Thursdays, 6 pm on Fridays, and noon on Saturdays.

One of those stations can accommodate two banking associates to serve two separate drive-up customers at the same time, expediting traffic flow during busy periods.

"We have a lot of drive-up business right now on Main Street, so this will certainly speed up the process, since we'll be able to process two vehicles at once," Mr Weinstein said.

Mr Trentacosta said the completion of the new branch and retail headquarters was a long time coming. But he believes longtime customers and newcomers to NSB will all find that the location and amenities of the new facility provide an optimal banking experience, along with ease of traffic access through a signal controlled entryway at Church Hill Road and The Boulevard.

"We are very excited to be part of the terrific new Lexington Gardens complex," said Mr Trentacosta. "Our new location in the heart of Newtown's business district will offer our customers an increased level of convenience and enhance our interactions with other local businesses."

The public is invited to a preview open house at 32 Church Hill Road on Wednesday, September 20, from 9 am to 3 pm, when tours will be offered throughout the day.

The new branch features an original display by Newtown artist Charles Fulkerson. Titled "Painted Ladies," it features 12 historic homes along Main Street.

Another highlight is a reproduction of the original mural depicting Newtown civic and commercial landmarks that was painted in 1964 at the 39 Main Street location by local artist Elizabeth Turner-Hall, formerly known as Elizabeth Hoeffner.

There is also a Newtown map from 1868 displayed in the entrance way of the new building.

"The new branch is intended to be more than just another bank branch," said Mr Weinstein. "After more than a century on Main Street, we wanted to make sure that our new headquarters branch reflected our history in Newtown and our commitment to the Newtown community."

Customers can access the bank's mortgage and financial planning experts on the second floor or their safety deposit boxes in the basement via elevator or stairs that provide secure passage to all three levels of the building - even if they are visiting outside of normal business hours by appointment.

Mr Trentacosta said the completion of the Church Hill Road office is a critical step as NSB begins shifting its workforce and training division among several locations in town. The training division recently relocated from a separate Church Hill Road commercial space to offices on South Main Street.

Once all retail operations and personnel are moved and operating out of the new Lexington Gardens branch, the Main Street facility will be reconfigured to better accommodate the bank's burgeoning back office needs.
