Young Pigskin Players Compete, Have A Ball In Flag Football Camp

Newtown’s Flag Football Camp, directed by Jeff Tolson, took place at the field at Reed Intermediate School this summer. Girls and boys of a variety of ages had fun playing friendly-yet competitive games under the direction of Tolson and counselors, including Kyle Simmons.

“It’s nice to work with the kids – it’s nice to work with other counselors you know from the school system,” Simmons said.

Tolson emphasized that the camp was all about fun. “Everybody makes the team, everybody plays, everybody has the chance to win a title,” said Tolson, adding that a “Super Bowl” was held each day of camp.
